An inventive, evocative, and emotive name that could be both memorable and pleasing to the ear, paired with a logo design that captures the essence of sophistication, the lush surroundings, and the indulgent allure of this one-of-a-kind mega resort.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

While a name may not define every aspect of an entity, it does play a crucial role in shaping its identity, allure, and connection with its audience.

Abaco Island

Nestled on Abaco Island in the Bahamas, South Abaco offered a serene retreat with its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful ambiance. Renowned for its stunning waterfronts and vibrant marine life, it became a paradise for boating, fishing, and nature enthusiasts. With charming locales like Marsh Harbour and a rich history shaped by Loyalist settlers, South Abaco beautifully merged natural beauty with authentic Bahamian culture, creating an idyllic sanctuary far from the hustle.

Our Naming Process

The naming for a superyacht marina in the Bahamas was a deliberate and thoughtful process, to capture the essence of sophistication, tranquility, and excitement.

By first gaining a deep understanding of the resort —its location, target audience, and distinctive offerings—we delved into the market landscape, competitor analysis, and the cultural significance of the area to ensure the name would resonate meaningfully with prospective guests. Our creative brainstorming focused on names that would encapsulate the resort’s atmosphere, values, and overall experience—striving for something memorable, pronounceable, and unique. After refining the possibilities, we rigorously tested the name for trademark availability and began developing logo conepts.

Our Collaborative Result

We explored several unique and evocative names that all met the request and more, and after three rounds of discovery and experimentation, the name Habacoa stood strong for its nod to local cultural history and global familiarity. We developed a logo, logo mark and pattern that represented elements of the island and the marina into its lettering, with flowing and gilded accents to elevate.

In Their Experience

“Working with SDCO was a joy as they communicate clearly and quickly. We had a very tight timeline and they were able to develop thoughtful names with equally beautiful logo designs for our business. Their work has set the stage for our future success and we can’t wait to see it all fully realized in 2027.”
